The Long Room, Queens Park

As sumone who has frequented this establishment (as The Park, then The Montrose, now the Long Room)for years,and I feel Im in a good position to judge how good it is.
In a nutshell: This place has undergone frequent changes of management (around 6-7 times)since becoming Long Room (about 18 mths ago), with the most recent being the worst yet.
The weekend DJ's have been stopped and even the 'new ones' werent nearly as good as the older ones (RnB dude on Fris was wicked and the Sat more Funky one was as good too!...the DJ booth now serving as a service area for table service!!!), a pool table is in place, but isnt even (duh!), and the staff are somewhat aloof, while the service is slow (20mins on a weekend isnt unusual!!!). Sure the variety of food is okay, but you pay over the odds for the majority of it. The beer on the other hand is very watered down, fairly flat and again, expensive.
The clientelle think theyre better than everyone else, and are very pretentious...spilling over from the Salusbury up the road!
To sum up; pretentious, overpriced, poor beer, no DJ's anymore, a permanent 'restaurant area' adds to the pretentiousness of the place, and the staff arent too friendly or effiecient.
I agree that its only a bar that serves food and nothing more, yet the higher management at Faucet Inns are responsible for the place slipping dramatically over the last year or so, ending with the current bar management and staff, who are nowhere as competent as any of the previous, and really shouldnt be in the job as theyve a lot to answer for in my book.
The ONLY thing in its favour for me is that its just around the corner so very local....yet I now go to West Hampstead and Kilburn instead of the Long Room!
Come on Faucett Inns, when are you going to sort this place out and give the PEOPLE what they want in this area instead of this arty-farty, stuck-up, overpriced joint?
Thoroughly UNrecommended and will not be seen in there again!
