The John Gilbert, Worsley

Took my wife, mother. sister and brotherin law for a Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day. Pre booked 'booth' for 5pm. Arrived 4:10pm and spoke to staff member to confirm arrival and if we could occupy the table. Advised they were 'running late' and our meal would now be 6pm.
Not impressed but as we had no other option decided to wait. 5:30 was offered a table which was not the one ordered... As mother was a diabetic decided to take the table so we could speed things along and ensure mum received some food asap.
6:15 advised another table was available (booth) but not the one we ordered. As this was in a better location we accepted it and moved. No major problem as we had still not received our first course.
6:30 rumours in the premises the Chef had had a fall out with management and had left everyone without their Christmas meals.
Saw two members of staff in tears as disappointed customers were venting their emotions.
This was the worst time I have spent in a restaurant throughout my lifetime and consider the Chef should be identified so all other restaurants and pubs avoid employing him like the plague.
