The Waggon and Horses, Elstree

We had a Baptism in the family recently, and approached this pub to ask them to host an outside event at the premises. Well, to summarise - it was superb and nothing could be faulted. The generous fellas that run the place worked hard to ensure that our day went superbly. They actually bought another marquee to assemble in the garden in case of inclement weather (which thankfully we didn't need). They closed off the back of the garden to the rest of the punters, meaning we had our own space. Staff were on hand and the barbecue went down a treat with our guests. The play area was consequently the sole domain of our party, and we could let the children play and have fun while not being too far away from watchful adults. The tables were decorated with balloons etc, but in a tasteful not-over-the-top way. They even provided juice (in cartons - how sensible is that?!?!?) for the kiddies and naturally the bar facilities were near to hand to quench our thirsts. Cava for toasting and wine for the tables were obtained without any fuss. All in all a super day out for our party, and a bill that was very reasonable.
My only advice is to deal with the owners in person - they are not overly good at emails. But everything they said they could do, they did do. No disappointments on the day at all!!
