Buck Hotel, Richmond

We live in Swaledale, but I'm giving these comments after visiting various pubs in the Dales. These pubs were mostly average (3 Horse Shoes, Wensley is very good) and emphasised just how good the Buck at Reeth is. We are regulars and since the place changed hands around Easter time 2010 it has become the best ale house in the region. Like one of the other comments I've yet to get a bad pint. Yes, it's great to see a landlord who really cares about the beer and drinks the stuff from the same pump as you do. The guest ales have been superb with just two in 12 months not to my taste. The daft thing is, even the Guinness and lager drinkers say it is superior - how do other pubs knack up keg lager?
They introduced real pizzas about six months ago which has proved a massive hit. Real pizza and real pint wonderful.
Last but not least, our whole family goes to the Buck, as it has a great atmosphere. Lets hope it doesn't change hands for a long while.
