The Greyhound, Lower Penn

I very much agree with scocky's review from a few years back, I had some terrible meals in the Greyhound then. However, we popped in last weekend as it is under new management - what a transformation! The whole bar/reastaurant area has been changed, the poncey menu has been replaced by good black country fayre, the fire was lit and the whole place felt warm and welcoming. We didn't sample the food although my partner thought highly of the bitter, and there was a plate of free sandwiches on the bar! We will return again to try the food, however judging by how busy it was in there I think we will need to book. Keep up the good work!

The Old Royal, Birmingham

This is a great pub, nice cheap wine and beer, and the staff are nice if you smile at them! Lost many an hour in here.

The Old Contemptibles, Birmingham

Very nice inside following refurb, food very good also. Only criticism is lack of bar staff at lunchtime, waited ages to buy a second drink and gave up in the end as so many people waiting!
