The Roadhouse, Covent Garden

This place is an absolute hellhole. In some ways it's good to know that all the rudest, most arrogant and obnoxious people you could meet are all safely cooped up in this venue - so you know where to avoid! I'm talking about people who just shove you out of the way at the bar, look the other way when you attempt to exchange some pleasantry, push in at the coat-check queue, etc etc. What is it about this place that makes people feel they can leave their manners at the door? The staff aren't much better - I was abused by the short bartender nearest the entrance because he couldn't hear my order, - I'd probably go deaf too if I worked every night in a place like this! Overcrowded, overpriced and far over-rated. DON'T GO - if you're new to London there are far more civilised bars about where you can still have a boogie try to pull a bit of drunk totty, if that's what you want.
