The Pilot Boat, New Brighton

We just visited this pub for the second time and decided to eat there as well. There was a great hoppy real ale on, as well as a nice malty one so we were both pleased and stayed for a second pint. Place was quiet, as the weather was atrocious, but it was just right for us and we got a cosy booth to sit in. Could not say enough good things about the food, though. Obvious that everything is hand made, and even a simple fish, chips and mushy peas stood out as one of the best - a light batter that wasn't too heavy, with the added goodness of hand-cut chips, a few large prawns and some scampi - ordered off the specials on the chalkboard. We will visit again.
