The Rambler Country House, Edale

Utter rubbish. We arrived around half eight on the Friday to find two rooms full of diners and one room with empty tables with "reserved" on them. We enquired if we could actually sit down and eat, to be told that they were reserved for residents. With half an hour until they stopped serving food, we asked why they were still reserved. "It's the rules. Two rooms for dining and one reserved for residents". With the Old Nags Head full (as we knew from the night before their food is very good) we went without dinner. Horrible place, ludicrously illogical rules for dining when for our party they could have had at least �60 off us. No residents in sight and an empty room of tables. If this place was in the centre of Sheffield, it would deservedly have gone out of business by now. Surly and unfriendly and leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Avoid this place like the plague.
