The Golden Lion Hotel, Horton in Ribblesdale

I visited this pub as part of attempting the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge with 10 other freinds. We had such a disappointing evening that put such a dampener on achieving the 25 miles & 3 peaks in under 12 hours earlier that day. We had to wait 2 hours for food that had to be re-ordered three times - at least 4 items on the menu were unavailable. The 2 hour wait also included a request for bread and butter. When asking for updates we were embraced with the rudest array of staff each of us have ever witnessed. A very rude chef, waitresses who literally threw plates on the table and a head bar-maid that said the pub was too busy to make us up the bread and butter. One meal (Cheeseburger) wasn't actually served with the rest of the meals. When asked the chef cooked us a 'veggie' burger - so when challenged again, the chef literally stated why can't your freind just eat the veggie burger..... we finally got a meatier version only to have the cheese omitted... personally I ordered Yorkshire Pudding with Sausage, again very disappointing to be served a re-heated 'frozen' version when you consider where we were!!

The decor is in need of an update also, the table cloths were of a 'xmas' theme (it was June!)
