The Monico Hotel, Canvey Island

Monico is under new management
We have been up to Monico Dining / Haute Monico & it is fantastic for a sunday dinner (this is accessed by a door to the left of the building & going up stairs)
The place itself could do with a referb but the food & service is well worth the visit it's �7.95 for one course �9.95 for two courses & �11.95 for three courses.
& a 2 course childrens meal is �3.95 & includes a free entry in to cheeky monkeys indoor play centre which is in the back of this building. (so great value for money!)

The carvery is really nice & you have a choice of 4 meats, Turkey, Beef, Gammon, Pork. Veg you have a nice wide range Crisp Roast potatoes, Garlic Roast Potatoes, Swede & Carrot mash, Cauliflower Cheese, Peas, Green Beans, Honey Roast Carrots and Parsnips, Red cabbage and of course you get stuffing & yorkshire pudding plus gravey & choice of sauces to accopany you meat choice.

Desserts you normally have a choice of about 3 which are all home cooked.

Again I can't praise this place enough the staff are lovely and very attentive which more than makes up for the naff decor.

In the summer it sometimes closes down (as this is their quiet time) but they are offering a delivery service on their carvery for �6.95 a head & �2.95 per child it is delivered piping hot to your door & just as good as eating there!
Free Delivery too!

I can't comment on the pub itself which is under the restraunt but Cheeky Monkeys is also great if you have young ones & also Fantasy Island over the road which is a small funfair type place.
