Re the last review, I think this must be a joke or a grudge of some sort! If it was me, I dont think I would come back a few times if it was so bad!
Just for clarity, we use a very highly regarded national wine supplier; our clientele is very good and we tackle any unsavoury behaviour (hence why we sometimes get people with grudges); the dogs are very professionally trained guard dogs, very well behaved and are never allowed to roam the pub; and I dont think I am that bad!
We have just received Pub of the Year for Barnet and Enfield for the 3rd year running. Thanks to all our many loyal customers for their continuing support.

Re. the last reviewer, I am pleased to hear that you liked the Mitre.
Not too sure what you mean by cold shoulder treatment from 11pm though. We serve drinks until midnight during the week and 1am at weekends, the latest we legally can. We start advising people politely from 12.15am and 1.15am that its time to drink-up and go. We close the doors at 12.25am and 1.25am respectively. These are late standard opening times for a pub.
Is it possible that maybe you were enjoying yourself so much that you lost an hour or twoif so, its maybe not that surprising that the staff want to go home to bed at these times!

Thanks to everyone who has written supportive comments to try to counter the “hate” mail that has appeared on here. Unfortunately, this website is not well maintained so it is difficult getting these sorts of silly comments removed. We’re CAMRA Barnet & Enfield Pub of the Year winner for four years running. If you want to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat in a truly historic, traditional family pub with really nice people, then come and join us. If you have prejudices, want to be vulgar or bother other people then go somewhere else.
