The Merry Harriers, Hambledon

I have been visiting a friend in England for the past week, during which we have camped all around different parts of the country and had a fabulous time. We were treated warmly by the landowners who came by, hung out, and made us feel welcome. On my last night in England, and also my friend's birthday, we went to the Merry Harriers with a small group of her closest friends for the evening. It is such a shame that a wonderful week was ended on such a sour note. From the moment we arrived we were warned and scolded about being thrown out if we made too much noise. Despite having booked our party of 15 (27-29 year old professionals) ahead of time, and spending a large amount of money in the pub, we were told that we were not wanted there by the landlady and that it was only because her husband had taken the reservation that we were there at all. They had many weeks where they could have called my friend back and said they were not able to accommodate our party. Instead they chose to let us come, take our money, serve us alcohol, and then threaten to call the police "if" we made too much noise. Meaning, we hadn't even done anything yet and we were already being tormented. It really put a horrible damper on our rainy night camping at the Merry Harriers, and I know without a doubt that nobody in our party will ever return, and will urge others to avoid going there as well.
