The Cricketers, Woodford

Country beer been awarded an honour and has been served up in great condition recently but very expensive. The place seems very empty at times especially evenings unless the football is on, but they all run out as soon as the final whistle is blown. Landlord acting very odd lately, seems to have developed a nervous tic and eyes more shifty than usual. Rumour is rife that he is being given the push soon as trade is down. I hope he is better at painting and decorating than he is at running a pub otherwise he will be lost.

The Travellers Friend, Woodford Green

Had not been in for a long while and gave it a try last week. Have to agree with some of the comments. A girl with a devilish haunting stare served me. She was either after my body or thought I was bring bad news or something. I thought the latter and I tried to reassure her that I was just a customer and wanted a drink. Beer was very warm and when i commented, she gave the most ridiculous reasoning, akin to a Barrack Room Chemist. I drank my pint gingerly whilst she stood texting furiously non stop, her face almost comical with a dim wit look, occasionally breaking into a idiotic smile. I could not face another warm pint so I went up the Rose and Crown nearby.

Much nicer atmosphere after a certain staff member fell on his sword and left.
Everyone seems more happy and his replacement is much nicer and does what a good barman does, serves beer promptly without sticking his oar in other peoples business. Well done McMullens for sorting this quite large problem out. All we need now is for the Landlord to go on a Politeness Course and to learn how to be a normal person (welcome customers when they arrive and bid farewell when they leave for instance) and The Cricketers will once again be one of the best establishments in the area.
