Booking a table is no guarantee you will get one? In September we booked a table for 7 and in October we booked a table for 9 for 6th December. Both were arranged on a visit and not over the phone. Both were entered in their reservations book and witnessed by my wife. Both were cancelled, but not by ourselves! We were gozumped by parties of 40 and 50. On a chance visit the day before each booking we met with apologies and an offer of a table in the public bar, at their prices, we considered, but having my father in laws 87th birthday in a public bar, well no. No explaination was given as to why our reservation was cancelled and no effort was made to contact us even though they had our name and tel.no. I did offer to pay their telephone bill but was told I was rude! My son had flown from Paris on the 5th for the event. Question who was rude? Since this has happened twice with 2 months we wonder if there is strength in numbers. Such is life.
