The Butley Ash, Prestbury
This pub is everything an English pub should be. It's has an "olde world" historic feel to it, and a friendly welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk through the doors. It's very popular with walkers, cyclists and those drivers in the Macclesfield area. It's food (excellent) is freshly prepared so at busy times there may be a wait, but worth waiting for I think. Try the roast beef on a Sunday (how do they cook beef to be that tender?) There is a beer garden at the rear for when the weather is decent, and a large outside smoking area, thoughfully that has a roof and some heaters! This pub has to rate very highly, not only for Macclesfield, but in the Northwest of England generally. Well worth a visit if in the area.
