The Seven Stars, Ripley

The bit about a warm welcome in the pub's web site blurb is untrue. The rudest landlord I have ever come across. Here is a sample of the conversation tonight:-

First of all I wait in a queue for about ten minutes while he takes the orders of the people in front of me.

We then have a chat about the fact he wants me to leave my credit card with him while we eat. I say I want to pay cash.He says OK and then without any warning just walks off to deal with another member of staff.

After some minutes he comes back and I ask him whether I can order some food. He starts being sarcastic and asks whether I am in a hurry to get to a funeral and to hold on for a minute. I pointed out I had already been holding on for ten minutes and gave him my food order. As I walk away he tells me I had just that moment turned up at the food order point and that the customer isnt always right.

I will never ever go to this pub again, and I shall never recommend it. if my friend hadnt been in such a hurry I would have walked out at that point.
