The Blue Boar, Wantage

Recently visited Wantage for the first time as we were attending a family wedding. Arrived early afternoon after the drive up and needing a bite to eat and a pint struggled to find anywhere still serving food. Ended up in this place and ordered a burger and a pint, but left without finishing either - says it all really! The place seemed to be frequented by some interesting characters, all looking like they'd been let out on day-release from somewhere. A totally uncomfortable and hopefully forgettable experience!

The Royal Oak, Rusper

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! A fantastic rural and rustic country pub, with an exceptional range of local ales and a cosy and enchanting atmosphere. An absolute pleasure to visit and always incredibly difficult to leave. A little gem that deserves all of the awards and praise it recieves.

The Fox and Goose Inn, Parracombe

A wonderful, quirky, english pub. A good selection of real ales, including local Exmoor variaties, but it's the food that makes a visit to this little gem of a pub worthwhile. The roast lamb in mint gravy is something to savour and the roast potatoes are to die for. The menu has something for everyone, there's a good choice for both meat and fish lovers and the West country cheese board is a must if you've got the room. Excellent!!!
