The Pride of Paddington, Paddington

I visited with 3 friends from work at lunch time on Wednesday. There were very few people around. The food was average and so was the lager.
The point of my complaint is the staff attitude. They could not charge my credit card because "somebody was on the phone" at the same time. They proposed to keep my credit card at the till until the phone line clears. I asked for the rationelle for this action and was told that "should we chose to run away they would be lumbered with the bill." I suggested that it is not fair for them to suspect us of being dishonest and to expect us to believe that they will not be dishonest with my credit card. I was then told in a very rude tone to "better go and get the cash from the ATM machine". At no point was there any apology for the inconvenience to us as customers or any sense that the treatment we received was inapropriate. Will definitely never go there again.
