Not a big drinker or frequent pub visitor - but when I do go with my wife I want a nice welcome, real ale (1 pint is enough!) a nice fire (optional in the winter) seating outside (for the summer) no canned music of flashing machines. Good reasonably priced food too!

The Teign House Inn, Christow
This pub doesn't disappoint! A warm welcome, relaxed friendly locals, an amazing variety of food, real ale with at least 2 guest ales.
The pub is up the Teign Valley and a bit off the beaten track. Good. It may not get spoilt. We had a 6.80 Ploughman's and it was HUGE. It filled 2 plates and was the biggest P'mans I have ever had. 3 cheeses / ham / warm bread - amazing!! And the chips!!!! Home made and utterly amazing. I'm seriously considering buying a house in a nearby village.
