Vulcan, St Helens

This is the friendliest pub in the world from my experience... good beer (no kronenberg unfortunately), The family that take care of it have shown real commitment for the place and its locals as the decor is decent and it is always clean. They held a traditional pub wedding reception for us in January and I love them for that. They have a kareoke every weekend which is fab. Sometimes early on in the evening the local kn*bheads frequent and the dance music is played (not my bag at all but shows their flexibility to their custom), when they've headed off I always enjoy my evening...

The Prince of Wales, Sutton

I am the Rachel of "RachelandStan" reporting back for duty... change of ownership has ruined the place, it has now had another change and is no longer clean and friendly... we have relocated to the Vulcan (just up the street).

The Prince is now filled constantly with drop outs who clearly spend all waking hours there and when we get in after a hard days work are now taking our lives into our own hands.

Selection of beers has also gone down so steer clear...
