The Birkbeck Tavern, Leyton

The Birkbeck is easily the best pub in Leyton, an area which is strangely lacking in good pubs. It has one of the best beer gardens I have seen in London and serves a great selection of drinks.

My wife, daughter and I pop in for a drink regularly and find the venue extremely friendly. Although I enjoyed the pub when 'What's cooking' was hosted there, the new landlord and lady seem to have a much better focus and grasp on how to run a pub, rather than a semi-private music venue.

Beers are a great price, there are regular changes of 3 guest ales and the pub has a fantastic atmosphere. What more could you want?
