The Middle Ruddings Country Inn and Restaurant, Braithwaite
Been in a couple times over the last 2 years with a fair size Uni group and we were all very warmly welcomed which is often not the case. Lots of banter from behind the bar. Cosy and warm. 4 ales on all from small micros (all in excellent form) and a real cider. At around 2.90 a pint this is much better value than Royal Oak at 3.60 (all Oct 11 prices).

A very nice little pub with a friendly landlord. 4 ales available, usually one each from Ossett, Skipton and Timmy Taylor plus a guest. Most were at 3 a pint. My Ossett was in tip top condition. Signs for ale from 2 a pint on Sundays.
Very pleasant inside with dark wood and leather seating. I feel it should be a lot busier than it is but it's opposite 'Scabby Taps', however I'd rather come here.
