The King Edward VII, Stratford
I'm afraid I have to add to the negative reviews for this pub in the hope the landlord will do something about it. I used to come here quite a bit but hadn't done so for maybe a year. I wish I hadn't. It was still busy enough but when we arrived early on a Saturday evening there were only two draught beers on tap and then this reduced to one when one of these went off. The TV was on so loud in the side bar it totally destroyed any atmosphere that might otherwise have been there. The side room where we moved to nearest the toilets was freezing. It was a sad sight to see 7 or so pumps with no labels or the labels turned round. They need to get it together quickly and not just to make money on the previous reputation and the food. It's always been the case that the toilets are pokey for a largish pub, but with the rest of the place having gone downhill you notice that all the more. A bit of investment in the right areas and a return to valuing real ale would help no end. It will probably remain popular because Stratford is so busy these days - but that just makes it easy for the landlord to remain complacent. It's inexcusable to have so many ales unavailable. I hope it was just a really off day but I doubt it.
