Guildford has been screaming out for a venue for live music for quite somtime. however how well it will do is another thing, as people in this town are far too stuck in their ways (ie always drinking in the same few pubs)
with that in mind i wish sucess for the boiler room. i have been there a couple of times recently and think its fantastic.
the first occassion was a local band and the second was a electronica/dance night. on both nights i wasnt dissapointed, it may be a small venue but it only adds to the atmosphere. the staff are safe, bouncers as bouncers go are nice and friendly and above all reasonable. the place looks fantastic and the drinks arnt too expensive
all in all a great night out. get there late tho

The Anchor, Ripley
local pub for local people, doesnt need much more said really
the beer and drinks are more expensive than places in guildford and parts of london, so beware
the tai restaurant is fantastic, although over priced
in regards to pervious comments, the pub is not 'full of Pikeys who hang around the bar', if u want a pub full of pikeys goto Woking
and yes the bar staff usually serve the locals first.. like i said local pub for local people
the staff are under paid and work faaar to many shifts, so if ur looking at this thinking about working here.. think harder
