Dog and Gun, Keswick

Great pub overall with a good selection of local ales and regular beers, including summer ales and Jubilee Stout. Full of locals, walkers and dog owners: great if you like dogs (and good-looking, well-kept dogs at that). While the pub was busy on both evenings I visited, there was no problem finding a seat for food. Great food - goulash and rabbit suet pudding. Interestingly, they don't do sweets.

My only mild gripe is that the bar staff were slow at serving, despite a busy bar. This is the only aspect of the pub that I would characterise as "average", as opposed to the "very good" other aspects of the bar.

9/10

The Prince of Wales, Clapham

Great pub. Nice selection of beers. Nice atmosphere. Very old school.

The Sun, Clapham

I was in the Sun this evening for a beer and a burger; and was in last weekend for a beer.

I can understand some of the comments below. Since they were made, the interior has been renovated and the bar moved from a central position in the middle of the pub to the rear of the pub. This has had the effect of dramatically reducing the length of the bar, improving service, and also increasing the seating quite dramatically. They've also opened a beer garden on the roof (The Helios Room) for the summer.

Good range of beers including Cutthroat Porter, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn, Doombar, Ubu Purity and the Wandsworth's local Sambrook's Wandle.

My burger was really good - served with loads of chips and some coleslaw. The other diners looked more or less happy with their grub.

Overall, a positive experience. Good atmosphere, good beer, good food. Looks like service has improved compared with previous reviews. I would try them again.
