The Shepherds Tavern, Mayfair

Good location and attractive exterior. Pity about the rest. I give this pub a sero rating for it's poor quality of food and the lack of customer service.

We were a party of about 12 people, all wanting drinks and food on Sunday 11 October. Although on the menu, there was no roast of the day and, although the pub wasn't particularly busy, we waited an hour for our meals which included a very mediocre microwaved steak pie and chips and a tepid Thai prawn curry that rivalled any supermarket ready meal for it's chemically enhanced flavour. Half of our food order was served to the adjoining table which resulted in an even longer wait for some of us.

We ordered 4 pints of strongbow and were served Kronenberg which the bar staff refused to change, claiming it was our fault for not watching what was being served. There was no manager or anyone else in authority to take this up with. As we were preparing to leave to go elsewhere, they did offer to replace the drinks but needless to say we took our custom elsewhere and won't be returning. Nor would I recommend this pub to anyone else. A very poor service indeed.
