I know the past and present owners, and many of the past managers, and I drank there a lot up until its refurbishment 2ish years ago. I have to agree with the previous poster - they built flats on top of the pub, turned a (fairly) thriving local into a cavernous warehouse, with rubbish staff and beers (no ale on tap!), and then closed it down. Surprise, surprise. Expect to see it completely turned into flats by the end of the year.

Interested punters should try to block any planning permission they apply for, but I don't think they've taken much notice of this in the past...
