The Boat Inn, Penallt

This is a nice old fashioned, no frills pub on a beautiful stretch of the River Wye. There's a great circular, though pretty steep, walk up to Penallt, where you can stop at the Bush Inn after the climb.
Unfortunately the food is very poor (chips excluded) and bar staff lack any charisma.
Great to sit outside and watch the dogs play and occasionally salmon jumping.
