King Harry's Bar (Glenbrook Hotel), Shanklin

This is a really great bar for those who like a nice place to chat and drink with friends. We visited over ten years ago and it was good as we remembered it. The huge number of pump clips are a testament to the amount of real ales that are served. Highly recommended.

Flanagans, Sandown

We popped into a couple of times in the afternoon while staying in Sandown. I do not think the low rating is justified. The bar staff were friendly, the food looked good and there are great views of the bay and the pier. Wine and Guinness were good as well.

The George Abbot, Guildford

A few years back the George Abbott went downhill and did not have a good reputation. The TVs were removed and gradually it returned to being a pub again. Now the TVs are back and you can watch the decline all over again. The TV commentary is so loud that it is not possible to have a chat with friends over a meal and a drink what is more, you are not welcome either.
