The only pub that has really made me feel welcome. The Land Lady and bar staff are exellent. The people who drink there are friendly and chatty and there is no atmosphere when a 'stranger' walks in.
I have visited regularly - never had a bad pint and it's always clean.
I can't comment on the food - but it looks well-priced with a good Sunday Roast Special!

I went to this pub last night for the 1st time. I'm reletavely new to the area, so a few 'local' people I have befriended have been showing me around.
The bar-staff were not very friendly. During the evening the chap who served us regularly under-filled the pint glass where we had to ask for a top-up... Also, the barrel finished half-way through pouring a pint of lager... when I asked for a fresh pint, the staff contested it stating that all lager tastes the same as it's mass-produced. I did get a fresh pint but I don't think that I should be questioned as to why I wanted a fresh pint. I just don't want crap in my drink from the bottom of a barrel... and nor do I want "the squits" from any sediment in the barrel either!
On the positives, the pub was clean, as were the toilets - but it was early in the evening before it got massively busy. I can't comment on the food but the menu looked good, although a bit pricey - Nachos 8.75...
The Beer was good and several decent pints of Pride were consumed.
Would I go back...? Probably - but there are far better pubs around to choose from...

This is a decent pub, serving good food... My friends drink Ale and they've never reported a bad pint (Brakespears and Hog-Goblin)... My only complaint is the lack of choice in Draught Lager - Stella, or Fosters... both of which I dislike but I suffer the 'skippy-piss'... Other pubs in the area also serve Carling...
No-One seems to serve Carlsberg though... Yet it is supposed to be the UK's most popular lager!?!?!?
It is more a pub you would go to with friends, or if you've pre-arranged to meet people there... I am not sure why, but it isn't the friendliest pub in town to newcomers - which is a shame...
