Green Man, Willington

Well,this is a traditional village pub! The beer was excellent and credit to the person responsible for mantaining the pipes etc. Bar staff attentive and knowledgable about the beers.
Ordered from the specials board and can't fault the portion size/ value for money. Food arrived hot and well presented.
Re the previous comment, yes the decor is in need of updating if you compare it to another pub in the village but looks aren't everything! I found the toilets very clean and wonder if the previous comment was made after the Village Raft Race Day when the pub has it's busiest day of the year?!
Would I recommend this pub? YES
The beer garden is small but family friendly with a small slide/ climbing frame but more important it's enclosed so no worry of the little people running off.
My preferred pub in the village and will be returning.

The Green Dragon, Willington

First visit at lunchtime and I was disappointed with the bar staff. The 3 young girls serving didn't have a clue what they were doing. Took 20 minutes to get served after they took it in turns to pull 3 different pints of Pedigree. Left and went to another pub in the village where the batman knew what he was doing.
Returned for quiz night. Amazed that the quiz master allowed the use of mobile phones!
The food was above average for a village pub but more suited to a town pub - portion and cost.
Worth a visit if you don't want a quaint village pub and you're prepared to pay that little bit more for food and beer.
Word of warning the local youngsters make this a rowdy pub after 9pm.
