The Bag O' Nails, Bristol

We came from afar for the BBQ / music festival at Bristol Harbourside this weekend - principally to see Hayseed Dixie. On Sunday we went to the festival for Levi Roots jerk chicken and Dj BBQ pulled pork roll for breakfast. We had 5 hours to kill before Hayseed Dixie and came to the Bag O' Nails as one of our team of 4 had heard it was good. What a great find. We stayed all afternoon, proper beer / cider, Decent music - live Blues Band, gas lighting. Great Barman, very attentive without being intrusive. It was our best pub of the weekend, by far. We really appreciated the independence and ambience and loved the pub rules. We are middle aged beer drinkers who had left our wives, kids & dogs at home. I can't stand cats but even the presence of the kittens didn't spoil my time. They left me alone and I left them alone. 10/10.
