The Duke of Sussex, Chiswick

This rating is pretty much spot on. Went there last Sunday. Staff look rather shabby and are not very attentive or enthusiastic. The menu layout was terrible and we were given the wrong menu twice. The food is very over-priced. My steak was average (but costs �16). The veg was rubbish, no greens with the steak or the roast dinner, just red cabbage, a boiled carrot sliced in two and naff potatoes (I think the chef had used the wrong variety for roasting). Salted cod as a starter was just mushy bland fishcake. The beer garden is overcrowded with cheap garden furniture. I think this place is a bit above it's station and either needs to improve pretty much everything or lower their prices. The toilets are a reminder of what this place used to be like. Dirty old pool bar.
