The Coat and Badge, Putney

Popped in the Coat & Badge last night. Nice selection of Cornish ales, nice clientele, good seats by the fire, all ruined by the filthiest glasses I think I've ever been served anything in!

Would echo Strongers' comments below too. Nice friendly bar staff but prone to disappearing!

Recomend you walk past it and head for the Jolly Gardners instead.

The Adelaide, Teddington

You say the new man runs a tight ship and that the Adelaide is all the better for it? Well I will just have to respect that. All I can say is that on the one occasion I visited since he took over his behaviour was completely unacceptable. You do not smack patrons in the back of the head. You can cut them off or you can ask them to leave (neither of which I believe would've been appopriate as the chap wasn't alone in berating the ref) but you do not hit them.

The Adelaide, Teddington

After a decade of coming here whenever I'm in Teddington I will never set foot in this pub again, and I'm afraid I have to disagree with the other posters here and say that the problem is the landlord. The new man seems pleasant enough but he has a very peculiar attitude. I've watched him berate a barmaid for not serving his friend when she was already run off her feet dealing with two or three orders and more worryingly I watched him slap a patron in the back of the head and tell him to calm down when the chap got a little over-excited watching Wales beat England this Spring! He acts as if you're guests in his home rather than paying customers in his business. It's almost condescending. Sad as I've always liked this little pub but this fella's taken all the enjoyment out of it for me.
