I lived at No. 11 River Way From 1935 until I joined the Royal Navy 1951. The Queen Adelaid was our family local, the owner at that time was George Ringwood and he ran a very tasteful establishment, it was a Watneys House and the barman's name was Fred.

Queen Adelaide, Ewell
Back in the 40's 50's and 60's this was a fantastic Pub/Hotel, well patronized because it was well run by the owner (George Ringwood, and the barman Fred ?), this was our family local as it was for a great many families in the area, and indeed from Stoneliegh, Ewell and Worchester Park. Pity to hear it's going down hill.
