The Rose and Crown, St Albans

I have visited this pub on several occasions with friends/collegues and have found it to be a friendly establishment with a very good choice of well kept beers Adnams being my particular favourite. The young bar manager who can be very personable but has the manner of a slightly over-bearing school teacher! A good day to visit is Sunday where there is an excellent atmosphere and an open�fire to�warm your hands by.

The Six Bells, St Albans

This has always been a favorite pub of mine, lovely interior, superb beer and very good food. Due to it's popularity, it can get very busy and stuffy in the evenings. Unfortunately I have to agree with the previous poster, the lady is a little abrasive, not enough to stop me from drinking there though!

The Garibaldi, St Albans

This has to be top of my list for warmth and friendliness. There is no other pub to beat it! The bar area rather dominates the main part of the pub so it always seems like there is no where to sit apart from the separate areas where you feel a bit segregated. The ESB is superb and all the beers are kept well.

Worth visiting for the friendly atmosphere alone!
