The George and Dragon, West Haddlesey

I recently visited this pub whilst staying with relatives nearby. The pub was holding a beer festival as it was St George's day. I thought it was a cracking local pub - bags of atmosphere and clearly really popular as it was busy all day with locals and visitors alike. The choice of beers was excellent, and I was impressed by the warm welcome from the landlord. The pub obviously plays a big part in the life of the village, holding various quiz nights, music nights etc which is fantastic to see especially as so many other pubs are closing or failing to offer much to the local community. I'll definitely be visiting again next time we come to the area.
