The Rose and Crown, Sandridge

As has been mentioned before on here, the refurb of this pub about this time last year was, IMO, one of the best things to happen to this pub. It went downhill right at the start of the year but seems to be on the up again now. We've been in the village for about 3 years now and this is definitely our first choice if we want to pop out in the evening or grab a bite to eat. The decor improved, lovely tiled floors and a nice warm open fire in the winter.

Also, there's now a manager there who knows how to run a proper pub (he seems to be in there 7 days a week though and I'm sure he could do with a day off!), with a great range of beers, good cider :) and great food, throughout the week and the Sunday carvery which is top nosh. I find this place welcoming, with a great atmosphere. I'm even happy to go there on my own as it's not an intimidating place to go on your own.
It seems to be getting busier and busier which certainly wasn't the case before Shaun arrived, so big slaps on the back for him - he's always been very chatty and affable when we've been there and was certainly one of the reasons we started going back more. Heartily recommended!
