The Hope and Sirloin, Farringdon

Absolutely dreadful meal on the first floor. Met up with a colleague that we hadn't seen for ages. Fillet steak was ''off'' so we all ordered sirloin steak. Two medium-well, the rest of us medium-rare. Mine came up three quarters fat and the rest very very well done......a friend asked for a replacement steak. This also came up very very well done.......a travesty if you like your steak medium rare or with any taste at all.......and at �14 this wasn't coming cheap.
Surly staff, terrible food (although the salad was fresh).....I would give minus stars if I could....!

The Prince Of Wales, Ampthill

This newly refurbished pub/dining restaurant is really great for Ampthill, if you want something different to the usual local pubs. Cosy leather sofas, soft jazz music in the bar, where you can relax and unwind. It's a Charles Wells so the usual beers to be had as well as Fosters, Red Stripe.
The dining room serves well above average food and it's a pleasure to eat there. Richard, the new owner, is forever helpful and cheerful and I can't recommend this place highly enough.
