The Glover Arms, Perth

Last two comments referred to poor queueing system. I've only been there at quiet times, so can't really comment. The staff seemed friendly, but seemed to vary a lot in their knowledge and competence. The food is pretty standard, but OK, and the beer (two or three real ale taps usually available) is normally good. On my last visit a couple of days ago there were Deuchars IPA, an Adnam's bitter and a really excellent Harviestoun Natural Blonde.

Kinnear's Inn, Scone

I think this pub could do with some more recent comments. It has been refurbished in the last year or so, and the lounge bar/restaurant is perfectly acceptable. (I haven't been in the bar.) The menu is not ambitious, but provides a reasonable and tasty selection, with regular specials available. Staff are friendly and the owner does much of the cooking himself. On my last visit a couple of weeks ago no real ale was available, though I was told it was coming. So to check I called in again today and found a palatable pint of Greene King IPA on tap.
It has improved considerably, and the management are trying hard. Deserves support.
