I will NEVER set it foot in this place again as long as I live.
I work long hours and take long lunches - it's the only time I get to sit down and eat a meal. Over the past six weeks I have spent in the region of 14 on lunch/beer on 3-4 days per week.
I should add at this point that I am a big fan of hot sauce. I used 3/4 of a bottle on two servings of chips (I was starving!) and the next time I came in, they actually charged me for it. Can you believe that?
I am aware they are running a business and not a charity, but it's not as if I pop in on the odd occasion and order half a lager. To repeat - I spend around 14 QUID each and every lunchtime. And they have the f@$%^&g cheek to CHARGE me for a condiment? Where's the sense in that?
Even worse was the way they went about it. I ordered my usual grub/beer combo and the total was 1 more than usual. When I asked whether or not that was correct, I was told it was. I added up what should have been the total and asked for the second time why it was more than usual, and only then was I told 'I've been told I have to charge you for the hot sauce.'
Bottom line is - the people that work in this place are creeps, which is a shame because it's actually a half-decent PH. But they have absolutely no idea about the basics of customer service or the cost of doing business. I am going to advise the whole of Camden Council to avoid this place and I would urge you to do the same.

Alfnoax - fair enough, but I hope that you would be up front about charging me, rather than just including it in the total and hoping I didn't notice. I have no objection to being charged - it's the way it was done that irks me. And I maintain, if you have a regular customer who spends 50+ on lunch over the course of a week, you'd have to be a mug to pull a mean-spirited little stunt like that. Not exactly good business sense in my book.
