The Inn on the Green, Shrewsbury

I'm not a local but was in the area for a couple of days and visited The Inn on the Green in the evening of Monday 7th July 2014. I found exactly the opposite to some of the critical reviews.

The barman served a great pint of zesty blonde which went down very nicely as I sat reading the paper. There was a nice buzz about the pub and the music was really good and varied.

For a Monday evening there were quite a few people in there - some playing darts, some at the bar and others just sitting and chatting. The pub has a good feel about it and that, along with a well poured pint made my visit very enjoyable. Thanks In on the Green!

The Alma, Sidcup

BEWARE - SCOTS NOT WELCOME IN THE ALMA, SIDCUP!

On the evening 25 June 2014 I visited The Alma, Sidcup. It's a reasonable pub but very suprisingly it doesn't accept Scottish notes. According to the two women bar staff it's something the manager has dictated. Therefore my pint was left on the bar after my money was refused. I'm not sure whether this is prejudice or just ignorance Watch out.
