The Red Lion, Shepperton

Brought the Mrs and kids here for lunch a few Sundays back, give the old girl a break from cooking. Hmm, no brownie points for me. Some of this pub looks OK, suitable for younger people I'd say. Other parts are very very smokey,tired and worn. Situated on a busy main road so not really child friendly.
The food.....can only be described as very very below average. The Mrs was not happy and the kids just picked at theirs, and it was far from reasonably priced. It was obvious from our full plates returning to the kitchen that the meal was not received well....but no one seemed to care enough to ask.
The service was very poor and the lady behind the bar made you feel like she was doing you a favour by serving you, that is when she dragged herself away from her chums. I don't see why I should wait to spend my hard earned cash.It's not as if the place was busy.
Overall, not a good experience. Shepperton has much better than this to offer.
