The Woodstock Arms, Woodstock

Very disappointed with this pub. It's not cheap to eat there and all three in our party complained about the quality of the food - well undercooked game, leathery "roast" potatoes, hard veggies ( even tomatoes) and claggy sauce. Service to the table was non existent so drinks had to be collected. Beer was OK rather than outstanding and house wine not great (�7.50 a large glass). When my guest asked to see the manager to register her comments we were told he was "too busy" to see us. The place was half empty. It may have been just an off night for the cook and it could be argued that some criticisms might be a matter of taste - but we felt the lack of interest in customers was inexcusable. We didn't bother to stay and try the puds, prefering to go elswhere to complete the evening ( which we did very happily and well looked after at Brotherton's).
