A beautiful 17th century building this pub is full of character and charm. Currently run by a tireless landlady that ensures all of her customers are catered for in both quality drinks and very high quality food. I can find no fault with this pub. If you find yourself in Lewes 'The Pelham Arms' is a must.

This is one of the best real pubs I know of. The range changes daily and they have hosted over a thousand different real ales since it re-opened after the floods in 2000. Andy (Fitz), the landlord is a very keen (and I mean VERY) football supporter and lived for some time in Berwick-upon-Tweed; hence the Berwick Rangers posters. He was born in Swindon. A nicer man you will not meet. A smashing pub, I highly recommend you sup an ale or five whenever you get the chance.

Lewes Arms, Lewes
The Lewes Arms is regarded by many locals as the flagship Lewes pub. Full of the charms of what a traditional British pub should be. It has taken a few knocks since Greene King took over the Beards estate in 1998. However, due to the dedication of a brilliant landlady it still has the 'Lewes Arms magic' and hosts some rather unusual games; including the now world famous pea throwing competition.
The Lewes Arms to my knowledge the only ex-Beards pub that still sells Harvey's Best due to the unwavering loyalty the regulars have for their local brewery (and quite rightly so).
