The Royal Oak, Langstone

There are fundamental problems with the Royal Oak in Langstone.

The staff can seem indifferent to customers and unmotivated. This applies especially to the landlord who tends to be rather antisocial, down in the mouth. and generally unwelcoming. Whatever happened to being greeted by a warm smile accompanied by "good evening, and what can I get you to drink sir?". The beers on sale are ordinary and the microwaved food is mediocre at best. The garden is tired and scrappy with a marvelous view of the bin store. There seems to be little or no value placed on the pub's unique history and fabric.

Great location. Great view from outside. Great potential. �9.00 for a New Year's Eve ticket? I'd rather eat a rat sandwich. Overall score 2/10.
