Rising Sun, Warsash
The Rising Sun is a nice traditional pub, although not as traditional as it used to be. It used to have a nautical feel to it, with maps of the worlds oceans on the walls, a working Barometer and weather reader, and even a skittles ally a long time ago. All of this has now gone, with just plain painted walls.
There is however still a 'wood' feel to the pub which is still nice.
It used to be renound for the sailors that used to drink in there in their oilys after a day on the water - but alas no more...
Unforunately since the change of ownership this pub has gone downhill with a very 'cliquey' feel to it. Thats to say if your not a regular, your not made to feel very welcome.
Staff - including the Landlady - are very abrupt, to the point of almost being rude on occasions. Empty dinks are 'snatched' from tables - and you'll be lucky to get a thankyou for anything. Although I have on a few occasions had a 'goodbye' when leaving.
Prices in the pub seem a little lumpy too - but i'm sure thats down to Green King - rather than the current landlady etc.
Sad to say for these reasons I cant rate this pub very highly at all - only a 2 out of 10.
