The Rose and Crown, Ashwell

A perfectly quaint English, village pub in a pretty village. The food is superb, locally sourced vegetables and meat. Lots of fish dishes all made on the premises. Smashing home made curries and fish and chips to take away!

The pub has a homely feel with friendly, helpful staff and a secluded beer garden at the back. During the year they have lots of events going on: a monthly folk music night, an annual home-made sloe gin competition, an annual knock-out games night (crib/darts/dominoes), mid-summer parties and so on. There is a small restaurant separate from the bar. In winter there are log fires and candlelights.
Nothing pretentious - just good old fashioned hospitality.
