The Queens Head, West Chiltington

Have visited this pub three times since the new owners took over, unfortunatly every time we have visited the food has been dreadful. First time had Roast Beef on a Sunday, Yorkshire Pudding rock hard, meat tough, veg soggy. Second time had Chocolate Brownie for dessert was absolutely rock hard could not eat. Third time had Pizza, you wouldn't think hard to cook - wrong! waited 45 minutes (pub not busy) Pizzas arrived bases were burnt to a cinder had to scrap off topping which was also burnt. Had cheesy chips, chips were hard and under cooked, also had onions rings, the fat was dripping off. We thought we would give it another try, third time lucky and all that, but never again staff are not even concerned that you have left bases of a Pizza, half finished meals and whole desserts. Pizza meal cost me and my husband �36, what a waste! You wait along time for your food and you never receive an apology. The times we have visited have not been peak or busy times so no excuse. Be prepared also to watch the chef have a fag outside the dining window - nice! West Chiltington deserves better!

The Old Cage, Lingfield

Visited this pub for the first time today. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, good beer and excellent Roast Beef dinner. Would highly recommend a visit, and will definately be returning again.
