Sadly I can only agree with the latest comments. We went last night (Sunday) and first were told we could not eat outside (on a lovely spring evening) but it was table service inside so we dutifully went inside and sat at a table. No service.....totally ignored. Eventually my husband went to the bar and was told gruffly that NO food is served in the evening. Great. We left. NOT impressed Mitchels and Butler. Try putting more money into the staff and less into the expensive decor. It might just pay off!

Foresters, Hampton Wick

This pub has to have one of the best chefs who ever worked in a pub...the menu and food are spectacular (with prices to match); however, the pub is always full of smoke, the eating area has no atmosphere and the decor is rough. The high food prices therefore come across as disproportionately high. In my view the pub has an identity crisis and needs to decide it if is:
a.) a Gastropub (yes please)
b.) a local's smokey boozer
c.) a Saturday Night Fever music event pub.
Had an exceptionally good Sunday lunch there recently and we were the only people eating a full lunch in a nigh on deserted eating area... What a waste of potential profits! Sort yourselves out and the area will thank you for finally providing us with a long awaited decent Gastropub.
